UN-CUBE

This proposal presents an interpretation of the concept of the “semi-open cube,” where solid masses dominate the external composition, articulated through protruding and suspended volumes that extend beyond the building’s envelope. These elements generate a dynamic visual rhythm, as if fragments are emerging from the body of the structure itself.

The design is rooted in the interplay of clearly defined horizontal volumes that slide and project beyond the main mass, granting the building a pronounced visual weight within the urban context positioning it as a moment of pause in the reading of the city’s architectural landscape.

Deep recessed glass voids function not merely as transparent façades, but as architectural frames that capture and articulate interior views. They allow natural light to penetrate while simultaneously producing layered shadows that enhance depth and provide environmental protection.

The ground floor, treated as a dark natural stone plinth, anchors the building with a sense of visual stability. In contrast, the upper volumes transition into a lighter expression, appearing to float above the urban fabric.
